The ETE Group also offers a range of different types of work placements, once again focused on developing and promoting young talent. These include programmes such as our Curricular Work Placements, Thesis Supervision and Summer Work Placements.

Curricular work placements and thesis supervision

We offer work placements for vocational students (dual-certification courses, CET and CTESP), undergraduates, recent graduates and master’s students from a range of technical fields. These placements aim to foster the development of skills in a professional environment and to support the completion of theses or academic projects at master’s or doctoral level.

Summer Work Placements

Our summer work placements are aimed at students from the first year of their bachelor’s degree through to the final year of their master’s degree, and offer the opportunity to work on real-world projects within the ETE Group. They last for a minimum of 1 month and a maximum of 3 months. Each placement includes: a meal allowance and, in exceptional cases, a contribution towards the cost of public transport; all the resources necessary to carry out your duties for the duration of the placement, in line with your area of work; and priority access to apply for our “Growing with the ETE Group” Trainee Programme.

What our staff say about us

‘Being part of ETE means belonging. Belonging to a group that has a history, but which is also making history in the present and aims to do so in the future. Being part of this history, learning, and becoming a better professional and a better person is a privilege.’

Beatriz Agostinho

Corporate Directorate for Control and Management Planning

“Being part of ETE is more than just a job; it’s being part of an extraordinary team that has helped me grow both professionally and personally. As an intern, I was lucky enough to explore different areas and companies within the ETE Group, which made me feel like an essential part of our success.”

Tomás Martins

Port Terminal Director | TMPB

‘For me, being part of ETE means being part of a Group that has given me the opportunity to work in various areas of the maritime sector, something that has captivated me from the outset as a naval engineer. It means being part of a Group with solid foundations in the past, but with a vision focused on the future. The close ties between people and companies foster sharing and synergy, boosting efficiency and our ability to respond to different challenges. Being part of ETE means learning how to get things done – at sea, on the quayside and on board.”

David Braz

Former Trainee, Port and Inland Waterways Operations

‘Being part of ETE means belonging to a family that grows and evolves alongside everyone who is part of it, without exception. A family that does not forget its past, but which also does not lose sight of the future. Being part of the ETE Group means not only facing daily challenges, but also having constant opportunities for professional and personal development.”

Luísa Figueiredo

CTO | Transinsular

‘Being part of the ETE Group is like being part of a ship’s crew. With six business areas linked to the sea. That’s what sets us apart in this sector. We create comprehensive solutions for our clients, using our own resources and speaking with one voice. And we quickly realised that we’d boarded a winning ship!”

Nuno Lopes

Director-General | TCGL

‘Over the course of my 31-year career with this Group, I have had the opportunity to gain an insight into a large part of its activities, which has been extremely enriching for my professional development.’

António Jordão

Director of Port Operations and Logistics

‘Being part of ETE means embracing its tradition as a legacy that has shaped values and knowledge. It means recognising that the Group is constantly seeking innovative technical solutions, based on long and extensive experience. It also means understanding that you are part of an organisation that performs well, that is responsive and reliable — and that this reliability is recognised by the market. Being part of ETE therefore means embodying all of this and acting accordingly — with pride and as an integral part of a united and far-reaching team.”
