A strategic investment that reinforces the Group’s commitment to the continuous improvement and innovation of logistics distribution efficiency, and to the quality of the services provided in Cape Verde.
Located in Lazareto, on the island of São Vicente, the new logistics centre benefits from a prime location close to the Mindelo industrial estate, facilitating access and the movement of goods. Covering an area of approximately 11,500 m², the centre offers more than 1,050 m² of storage space; the ETE Group’s new logistics centre also includes temperature-controlled areas for the efficient handling and storage of chilled and frozen goods, thereby promoting increased trade, particularly between the islands of Santo Antão and São Vicente, and with the more tourist-oriented markets of the islands of Sal and Boavista, respectively. As well as consolidating the ETE Group’s logistics operations in Cape Verde, this investment aims to directly support the activities of the Group’s local companies, such as ETE Logística Cabo Verde, Transinsular Cabo Verde and CV Interilhas – ensuring a higher standard of service for the transport of goods and general cargo – as well as in the provision of specialised support services in the field of naval engineering, provided by S&C Cabo Verde.
Thanks to the prime location of the new logistics centre – close to the airport and just a few minutes from the Port of Mindelo, in São Vicente – this new infrastructure and the expansion of the range of logistics services will also improve the efficiency of the logistics chain for the distribution of local products between the islands, both nationally and internationally. The new logistics centre is designed to enable a faster response within the fine-mesh distribution network, complementing national-level distribution capabilities. In addition to boasting more modern facilities with greater capacity for organising and handling cargo and/or small goods, this new facility is equipped with three loading and unloading bays, an access ramp for freight, and is supported by a road transport fleet that handles all daily freight distribution between the port area and the industrial zone. This new logistics centre also brings with it a multidisciplinary approach, soon to include a space entirely dedicated to support services within the field of naval engineering.
The integration of modern storage solutions and the diversification of logistics services thus enable the ETE Group to provide an efficient response to the needs of the local market and the operations of CV Interilhas. The centre has been designed to evolve in line with market needs, with a view to ensuring a responsive, efficient and personalised service, with a particular focus on refrigerated transport, which is essential for the distribution of products from the islands. This investment is part of the ETE Group’s ongoing commitment to higher-quality infrastructure and more efficient solutions to ensure the best possible service for its customers.
The new logistics centre in Mindelo is a significant milestone in strengthening our operations in <br>Cape Verde. With this investment, we are raising the standards of quality and efficiency in the transport of freight, products and goods between all the islands. It is worth noting that the ETE Group, in Cape Verde, has a total covered storage area of approximately 4,000 m², including areas dedicated exclusively to temperature-controlled storage, as well as over 10,000 m² of open-air storage space, and operates across the main islands. It has its own fleet consisting of 7 lorries, 24 trailers, and 12 distribution vehicles – both at ambient temperature and temperature-controlled – to ensure logistics operations throughout the country.
