The Leixões General and Bulk Cargo Terminal (TCGL), operated under concession by the ETE Group, led an operation on 21 and 22 January to load 2,400 Volkswagen vehicles, manufactured at AutoEuropa, bound for the port of Emden in Germany.
At the same time, the TCGL also unloaded 353 vehicles of various VW Group brands, which arrived on the same ship, bound for Portugal and for nationwide distribution.

In an integrated logistics operation involving the companies TCGL and Navex, both part of the ETE Group, the vehicles to be shipped were parked at Logistics Platform I at the Port of Leixões, having arrived mostly by rail, and were subsequently transported and loaded onto the vessel PATARA at Dock 1 North of the Port of Leixões; the vessel was handled by Navex, also a company within the ETE Group.

Nuno Lopes, Operations Director at TCGL, emphasises that “it is operations such as the one we have witnessed that demonstrate the ETE Group’s efficient response and flexibility in creating customised and integrated solutions, which meet high standards of excellence, such as those of the Volkswagen Group”. He added that “the operation was carried out successfully and within the scheduled timeframe.”
