Transinsular Wins International Tender and Secures Fuel Distribution in the Azores Until 2029

Transinsular, a company of Grupo ETE, has once again emerged as the winner of the international tender launched by the Government of the Autonomous Region of the Azores for the transportation of fuel between the various islands of the region for the next six years.
Until 2029, fuel supply will continue to be ensured by the tanker vessel “São Jorge”, owned by Transinsular and permanently stationed in the Azores. The vessel handles the distribution of various types of fuel for maritime, road, and air transport, as well as for the archipelago’s energy production—transporting approximately 80,000 tons per year.
Transinsular’s winning proposal reflects the company’s ongoing and strong commitment to the Autonomous Region of the Azores and its population, recognizing the importance and responsibility of this essential service, which is vital to the proper functioning of everyday life and the local economy.
It is worth noting that the vessel São Jorge sails under the Portuguese flag and operates with a national crew, serving as a reliable representative—through its features and quality—of high-standard national maritime transport.
