Salicórnia, the 1st electric ferryboat to be built in Portugal, bears the signature of Grupo ETE. Aside from being a milestone in the growth trajectory of naval engineering and construction, a business area of Grupo ETE, it is a symbol of environmental and social sustainability. Designed to meet the increasing demand for mobility of the citizens of the Aveiro Region, this ferryboat is the result of the collaboration of various Portuguese brands, from design to architecture and construction.
Alongside its numerous features – 100% electric, Zero CO2 emissions, greater capacity for transporting passengers and vehicles (260 and 19, respectively) – it positions Grupo ETE at the forefront of Portuguese naval engineering and industry.
Entirely designed and built in Portugal, at the Navaltagus Shipyard, in Seixal, Salicórnia represents an innovative solution that improves the region’s environment and the quality of life of the people of Aveiro.
Salicórnia’s ferryboat is part of the Aveirobus passenger operation and is daily monitored and managed by Grupo ETE crews in Aveiro, to support the mobility needs of the people of Aveiro, between S.Jacinto and Forte da Barra.
