Grupo ETE has recently invested €14.2 million in the acquisition of four new Liebherr Port Cranes, now in operation at its facilities in the ports of Aveiro, Leixões, and Setúbal. This investment reflects and reinforces the Group’s commitment to the development of the Portuguese port sector, particularly through the enhancement of national ports and their infrastructure.

The first Liebherr LHM 280 and LHM 420 cranes are already operational in Aveiro and Setúbal, respectively—ports where Grupo ETE runs port operations. The remaining LHM 420 cranes are expected to be installed and start operations at the General Cargo and Bulk Terminal of Leixões (TCGL) during the first quarter of this year.
The new LHM 280 and LHM 420 cranes, with maximum capacities of up to 84 and 124 tons, respectively, now complement the existing equipment operating at various terminals. These additions will increase cargo handling capacity and, consequently, enhance Grupo ETE’s responsiveness and operational efficiency for its clients.

Considering the growing demands of port operations in Portugal, and with a focus on maintaining operational excellence, Grupo ETE is keeping pace with the industry’s evolving needs. The Group is starting 2023 with new investments in the sector, continuing its mission to deliver integrated logistics solutions with a high level of service.
