Baía do Seixal
Supporting port operations on the Tagus River since 2016
The tug-pusher, Baía do Seixal, was the first innovative shipbuilding project of Grupo ETE, conceived to expand port and inland waterways operations on the Tagus River.
With specific features to support river operations – shallow draft, reduced length and high power – the tug promotes operational efficiency, as it operates in narrow and shallow areas, promoting the sustainable river transport of goods from Lisbon to Valada do Tejo.
Following the construction of Baía do Seixal, two more constructions fully designed and developed by Grupo ETE followed – two workboats multicrafts — which currently support port operations nationally and internationally, respectively, the workboat Cachão da Valeira and the workboat “Punta Tigre”, operating in Douro’s River and Uruguay’s River.
